In 2022, PharmCube China deployed Microsoft Azure Text as part of a Natural Language Processing initiative to extract and standardize pharmaceutical sales and clinical-trial indication data. The engagement was executed with Microsoft and Microsoft’s AI Co‑Innovation Lab, with a focus on automating ingestion and normalization of unstructured pharma documents for R&D analytics.
The implementation used Microsoft Azure Text Analytics for Health together with Azure Form Recognizer to capture structured fields and clinical entities from invoices, sales reports, and clinical documentation. Azure Form Recognizer provided document parsing and field-level extraction, while Text Analytics for Health performed named entity recognition and clinical concept normalization, enabling standardized attribute mapping for downstream analysis.
Operational coverage was centered in China and targeted pharma sales reporting and clinical trial indication data streams feeding R&D analytics workflows. The deployment was hosted on Azure services, and the Microsoft AI Co‑Innovation Lab collaborated on model calibration, labeled data preparation, and validation of extraction logic to align outputs with PharmCube’s pharmaceutical taxonomies.
Governance work included iterative validation and review gates implemented during rollout to reduce manual verification, and process changes to shift routine data curation toward automated pipelines. Reported outcomes included very high match rates, approximately 97.7 percent, and a reduction in manual data processing for the targeted sales and clinical-trial indication datasets.

In 2022, PharmCube China implemented Azure Text Analytics as part of a China pharmaceutical data platform initiative in the Analytics and BI category. The project targeted standardization of sales data extraction and matching of clinical trial indications across multilingual documents in the health and life sciences domain.
The implementation combined Azure Form Recognizer for structured and semi structured field capture with Azure Text Analytics for Health for clinical entity recognition and indication mapping. Functional modules included optical character recognition, entity extraction, multilingual language detection, clinical named entity normalization, and data enrichment pipelines that produced cleaned, structured records consumable by analytics workloads.
Deployment architecture was built on Microsoft Azure services and executed in collaboration with the Microsoft AI Co Innovation Lab, with Microsoft acting as the system integrator. Integrations routed text analytics outputs into PharmCube internal data stores and the China pharmaceutical data platform, enabling automated pharmaceutical data mining workflows that span sales and clinical research functions.
Governance covered model tuning, validation workflows, and production monitoring to sustain clinical mapping precision during rollout of multilingual document ingestion and automated data cleaning. The project reported very high match rates, approximately 97.7 percent, which accelerated data cleaning and enabled deeper automated pharmaceutical data mining.
