In 2002 PIOLAX implemented FLEXSCHE GP as an Advanced Planning and Scheduling solution to standardize production planning across its domestic manufacturing sites including Tochigi Prefecture. The initiative concentrated on shifting planning authority from dispersed field departments to centralized management oversight for production scheduling and order sequencing.
FLEXSCHE GP was configured as the primary production scheduling engine, delivering finite capacity scheduling, order sequencing, and master production scheduling workflows consistent with Advanced Planning and Scheduling functionality. Configuration emphasized standard production rules, shop floor sequencing, and plan visibility to support coordinated decision making between planning and operations.
The deployment was executed as a centralized planning instance serving multiple domestic sites, and the project integrated FLEXSCHE GP with SAP for plan transfer and data exchange. Implementation partner Ines supported the rollout from 2002 to 2006 and the configuration work that enabled extension of planning processes to support a Thai manufacturing base.
Governance changes included formalizing planning ownership under management, standardizing scheduling processes across sites, and establishing operational procedures for cross site coordination. The implementation enabled transfer of planning responsibilities to management and facilitated PIOLAX expansion to its Thai base while linking production plans with enterprise SAP data.
