In 2018 POLITIX implemented Apple Pay as its Payment Processing solution on the POLITIX ecommerce website. POLITIX uses Apple Pay to enable customers to complete checkout through the Apple Pay Web API and the native browser payment sheet, integrating the Apple Pay application into the online purchase flow.
The implementation focuses on web checkout integration, adding the Apple Pay button and JavaScript API, provisioning merchant identity and certificates, and enabling tokenization and payment authorization flows. Configuration work included domain verification, certificate management, and server side handling of payment tokens to exchange with the merchant payment infrastructure.
Apple Pay is integrated into POLITIX ecommerce checkout and interfaces with the site payment gateway and order management processes to capture authorized payments and trigger fulfillment workflows. Operational coverage is the POLITIX online storefront in Australia, supporting customer authentication via Touch ID or Face ID on compatible devices and browsers that support the Apple Pay Web API.
Governance and rollout were managed by IT and ecommerce teams, who updated checkout user experience, defined payment acceptance policies, and validated certificate rotation and browser device compatibility. The implementation leverages Apple Pay tokenization and biometric authentication to limit card data exposure at the point of sale, aligning the Payment Processing implementation with secure card acceptance and compliance objectives.

In 2015, POLITIX implemented ReadyTech HR3 Payroll as its central Payroll application to manage retail payroll processing and bonus administration. The ReadyTech HR3 Payroll implementation was operated from the POLITIX head office in Victoria and supported weekly payroll for 500 employees across six industrial awards, salaried employees, and an active company bonus scheme.
The implementation included standard payroll modules and configurations such as pay run automation, award rule configuration, bonus scheme maintenance, employee master data, tax and superannuation calculations, and payroll reporting. ReadyTech HR3 Payroll was configured to handle complex award conditions and recurring payroll tasks, and to produce payroll outputs used by finance for accounting and reconciliation workflows.
Integration work included implementation and staff training for the Riteq staff rostering system, enabling rostered hours to feed payroll calculations and reduce manual time capture. Payroll outputs were consumed by day to day finance activities including manual AP and AR reconciliations and daily cash flow monitoring, and the system supported management of an annual payroll expense of $21M per annum.
Governance and operational rollout centered on internal process documentation and training, with the Senior Payroll Officer driving the system setup, comprehensive training of relief payroll staff, and development of an instruction manual for ongoing operations. Complementary process changes included converting 18 column AP and AR ledger books to an Excel based workflow, which reduced the daily reconciliation task from approximately half a day to 15 to 30 minutes.

In 2014 POLITIX implemented Zendesk Chat on its public website to support online customer service and sales engagement, using a solution aligned with the Chatbots and Conversational AI category. The deployment focused on bridging web storefront visitor interactions to staffed support channels, positioning Zendesk Chat as the primary conversational touchpoint for shoppers on politix.com.au.
Zendesk Chat was deployed as a web-embedded chat widget with typical Chatbots and Conversational AI capabilities such as real-time messaging, operator console access, canned responses and proactive chat triggers. Configuration work centered on widget placement within the e-commerce site and on agent routing rules and session transcript capture to support synchronous web conversations.
Architecturally the implementation used a client-side widget that connects to Zendesk Chat’s cloud service, routing sessions to POLITIX customer service agents and e-commerce operators. Operational governance emphasized web support workflows and agent queue management, with the solution operationalized by the company’s online support teams across the corporate e-commerce channel.
