In 2004 Polska Żegluga Bałtycka implemented Asseco Macrologic ERP as the core ERP platform, deploying the MacroSoft SKID AS ApplicationSERVER in a three layer configuration to enable connectivity across all economic entities owned by the shipowner. The installation was provisioned for 50 workstations and structured to support Polska Żegluga Bałtycka together with seven subsidiaries, aligning the Asseco Macrologic ERP rollout with the organization’s operational footprint in maritime transportation.
The implementation covered all modules of the SKID package consistent with an ERP deployment, including finance, HR and payroll, inventory and warehouse management, and controlling. Specific module workstreams included adaptation of the financial and accounting module FIKS and the warehouse module MAGFAKT, followed by rollout of the INFOMEN controlling tools, with configuration to reflect statutory changes in the VAT Act and multi currency financial operations.
Integrations were scoped to exchange financial and accounting information with the booking system and with the catering software installed on owned vessels, enabling transactional flows between shipboard applications and shore based finance and inventory modules. The three layer ApplicationSERVER architecture was selected to simplify connections between distributed economic entities and to centralize data exchange across shipboard and shore systems.
The program formally replaced the Prokom system previously used by the company, with finance related modifications prioritized for completion by April 25 and remaining functional areas scheduled for completion by the end of April to ensure uninterrupted functioning at the moment of opening the European market. The Asseco Macrologic ERP deployment was designed to improve cost control and streamline information flows across finance, operations, and fleet support functions.
