In 2016 Qantas - Los Angeles Airport implemented Amadeus Altea Departure Control, deploying the Amadeus Altea Departure Control system to manage day of departure passenger processing at the Los Angeles Airport site. This implementation is framed within the Airline Departure Control category and supports check in and gate operations for Qantas flights.
The deployment configured standard Airline Departure Control functional modules including passenger check in, boarding control, baggage tag issuance, flight manifest and seat management, with automated boarding sequence control and document verification workflows. Amadeus Altea Departure Control was provisioned to centralize departure manifests and to coordinate baggage reconciliation and boarding pass issuance at transaction level.
Operational scope focused on ground operations, passenger services, baggage operations and gate agents at the Los Angeles Airport location, aligning day of travel workflows with airline procedures. The solution was integrated into operational processes and delivered workstation interfaces for check in counters and gate side positions to enable real time passenger processing and boarding control.
Rollout followed a phased operational cutover across check in and boarding points and included procedural updates for boarding workflows and bag tagging governance along with targeted agent training. Governance assigned departure control responsibility to ground operations management and standardized escalation protocols for boarding exceptions.
