In 2016, Quality Dining implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP in an ERP Financial deployment across its operations. The Oracle PeopleSoft ERP rollout focused on integrated General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Project Management modules to centralize financial operations and corporate accounting workflows.
Configuration work included embedding the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Project Management modules into a shared chart of accounts and transactional controls, and developing above store internal reporting and transaction flows. The above store web portal strategy centralized invoices for payment, cash handling submissions and store inventories that had been processed at individual units. The implementation included configuration for project accounting and capital asset tracking aligned to corporate accounting policies.
The deployment architecture spanned 230 locations, covering quick service units and table service units, and was supported by an enterprise wide telecommunications network and a Data Warehouse and Data Collection System. The Data Warehouse was designed to collect data from profit centers for business analytics and corporate transactional processing, feeding financial ledgers and project records. Networked data collection standardized transactional inputs from store systems into the Oracle PeopleSoft ERP financial modules.
Governance was led by the Chief Information Officer who served as Project Leader for ERP system selection and implementation, supervising development and rollout activities. Implementation governance included centralized control of financial configurations, standardization of store transaction processing into the above store portal and oversight of data flows into the Data Warehouse for reconciliations and reporting.
Additional operational capabilities developed alongside Oracle PeopleSoft ERP included a Theoretical Product Costing System and Labor Costing system, both designed to integrate cost control data with financial accounting and project management records. These systems were instrumented to supply cost and labor metrics into the Data Warehouse and Oracle PeopleSoft ERP financial processes for enterprise level cost control and analytics.
