Infor SunSystems was configured to support core financial controls including the general ledger driven month end close, opening and closing accounting periods in the SUN system, and systematic balance sheet reconciliation workflows. The implementation emphasized trial balance alignment and period control, with the SUN configuration used to enforce month end deadlines and to record reconciliations and control account movements.
The SunSystems deployment operated alongside Q&L, iTrent and Excel based processes for operational data consolidation and reporting, and VAT workflows were executed using HMRC online submission for Raven Housing Trust, Raven Enterprise and Raven Development Services. Operational coverage therefore spanned group entity financial consolidation tasks and statutory VAT submission across the three named entities.
Governance was formalized through monthly deadline management and reconciliation ownership, with the Financial Accountant accountable for ensuring balance sheet accounts agree to the trial balance and for closing and opening monthly periods in SunSystems. Routine responsibilities documented during the implementation include reconciliation and submission of quarterly VAT, control of balance sheet accounts, and stabilization of the month end close process within the ERP Financial environment.

Governance and rollout were driven by the Director of Transformation, applying lean and agile business transformation practices across systems, process, organizational design and culture. Implementation governance included process standardization, change control for HR process redesign, and role based access controls to manage compliance and operational handoffs.
The broader programme that included Microsoft Dynamics 365 Human Resources contributed to Raven Housing Trust receiving the best digital transformation award at the 2023 Inside Housing awards.
