Tietoevry Legacy Tietoevry Lifecare EHR Electronic Health Record ERP Services and Operations n/a 2024 2025
In 2024, the Regional Council of Ostrobothnia began a phased deployment of the Tietoevry Lifecare EHR, with deliveries starting in October 2024. The Tietoevry Lifecare EHR Electronic Health Record standardized client and patient information by replacing six different client and patient information systems across the county, aiming to enable equal services for approximately 176,000 residents served by 14 municipalities and a workforce of 8,000 social and healthcare professionals. The implementation established a unified documentation platform and real-time comprehensive view of client and patient information to support the daily work of social and healthcare professionals. The Tietoevry Lifecare EHR provides a shared Citizen's health service that lets patients view their own information and perform digital transactions, and the system’s open data model was highlighted for enabling extensive customization of workflows and effective utilization of clinical and operational data, including for artificial intelligence use cases. Deployment scope covered social and primary healthcare services, Vaasa Central Hospital, and other specialized healthcare units, with the hospital patient information system implementation entering a critical phase at the end of March. Delivery and operational support were provided through collaboration among Tietoevry Care, the county’s own experts, and 2M-IT, including enhanced on-site support and phone line assistance during rollout. Lifecare is noted as being in use across 15 wellbeing services counties, covering over 3 million Finnish citizens, establishing a regional precedent for reuse and operational consistency. Governance and process change included implementing uniform operating models across the entire wellbeing services county, intended to improve coordination of care phases and procedures and reduce the risk of errors. The rollout explicitly supports bilingual service delivery in Finnish and Swedish and centralizes patient data to enable more coordinated care across departments and sites without referencing prior system names.
