Palo Alto Networks Legacy Palo Alto Cortex XDR Extended Detection and Response (XDR) CyberSecurity n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Relo Group deployed Palo Alto Cortex XDR as its cloud-delivered endpoint security platform. The initiative followed a comprehensive review of endpoint security tools and began with a proof of concept in March 2021 to validate that required detection and response features could operate without issue. The rollout used Palo Alto Cortex XDR Pro and emphasized endpoint protection, behavioral analytics, centralized incident investigation, and policy standardization consistent with Extended Detection and Response (XDR) operational patterns. Development, configuration, and testing began in April 2021, with configuration work focused on agent policies and baseline controls before broad deployment. Integration with Palo Alto Networks WildFire was implemented to analyze and identify unknown threats in a cloud virtual sandbox, enriching Cortex XDR Pro telemetry and alerting. Deployment targeted approximately 5,000 client PCs across Relo Group Japan offices and remote work environments, and the solution was placed on the production network in June 2021. Governance used a staged, PoC driven approach to establish configuration baselines and phased agent rollout, assigning operational ownership to security operations and endpoint management teams. The integration with WildFire and the expected higher threat response capability were cited as key drivers for adopting Palo Alto Cortex XDR, shaping incident response orchestration and operational management priorities.
