In 2024, Rhenus deployed Workday HCM to address Core HR requirements for a targeted global rollout covering more than 7000 employees within the company’s broader 40,000 employee base. The initiative was coordinated from the Greater Dusseldorf area with on-site project management supporting international stakeholders, and responsibilities included operational task management, stakeholder communications, and detailed data preparation for the Workday HCM deployment.
The Workday HCM implementation focused on Core HR capabilities, including employee master data consolidation, organizational management, workforce administration, and the configuration of HR accounting processes. Configuration work emphasized data model alignment and automation of HR accounting workflows developed in collaboration with Finance and HR stakeholders, with data preparation executed alongside five parallel HR projects influencing security and process orchestration within Workday HCM.
Operational integrations were coordinated with internal Finance and HR processes to ensure HR accounting touchpoints and financial oversight were embedded into Workday HCM transactions. Project management used Jira boards to sequence sprints, track issues, and engage top management and international HR teams, reflecting a structured approach to cross functional coordination during rollout.
Governance included centralized stakeholder communications, executive engagement on five HR projects, and Jira based change control to manage configuration and data loads into Workday HCM. The program established a combined set of Core HR processes and more robust financial oversight between HR and Finance.

In 2014, Rhenus Assets & Services implemented ABBYY FlexiCapture as an Intelligent Document Processing solution. ABBYY FlexiCapture was provisioned as a centrally integrated component of the Rhenus corporate IT landscape to automate document intake and capture workflows across the Assets and Services business unit. The deployment emphasized document classification, OCR based data extraction, and automated parsing to create a standardized ingestion layer for incoming documents. The implementation scope focused on centralizing capture and processing rather than decentralizing point solutions across sites.
Configuration and operationalization included capture templates, classification rules, data extraction logic, validation checkpoints and exception handling to support semi automated review. The ABBYY FlexiCapture component was integrated into the corporate IT solution to route captured data into existing corporate workflows and processing pipelines while maintaining a single processing point for documents. Governance centered on centralized capture ownership within Rhenus Assets and Services to reduce variability in document handling and to enable consistent validation and auditing of captured data. The case study states the tool processes documents as efficiently as possible, reflecting an operational outcome of centralized Intelligent Document Processing within Rhenus.

| Blue Yonder | Legacy | Blue Yonder WMS (ex JDA WMS) | Warehouse Management | SCM | n/a | 2025 | 2025 |
In 2025, Rhenus began a global rollout of Blue Yonder WMS (ex JDA WMS) through an expanded strategic partnership with Blue Yonder to standardize its Warehouse Management. The initiative is presented as a gradual, worldwide implementation to create a uniform, more efficient and more flexible IT landscape across Rhenus warehouses.
Rhenus will deploy Blue Yonder Warehouse Management as an interoperable and configurable platform, with emphasis on in house configuration to reduce the need for completely new developments. A Blue Yonder competence center will develop preconfigured modules for various industries, enabling reuse of functional components and accelerating template driven implementations of warehouse management, picking, put away, and fulfillment workflows.
The program builds on an initial footprint where customers already benefit from warehousing and fulfillment services at more than 180 sites in over 20 countries, and it is intended to expand across Rhenus warehouses worldwide. Integration priorities include accelerating connections to customer systems to streamline order to fulfillment handoffs and to support global warehousing operations and IT in multiple regions.
Governance and operational rollout are centered on the competence center model, which creates standardized configuration patterns and implementation playbooks to harmonize processes across sites. The partnership is framed as a long term collaboration to ensure global availability of Blue Yonder Warehouse Management and to construct a consistent, scalable IT infrastructure that addresses security and performance requirements.
Stated outcomes include strengthening Rhenus competitiveness, enabling faster response to individual customer requirements worldwide, and optimizing implementation processes through standardized modules and improved cross site cooperation.
