In 2016, Rite in the Rain implemented ECI Macola - Order Management as part of a Macola 10 upgrade, deploying Order Management capabilities to strengthen inventory and production controls. The upgrade introduced Shop Floor Controls, material requirements planning and scheduling modules to deliver more timely inventory visibility and tighter production planning across the manufacturing footprint in the United States.
ECI Macola - Order Management was configured to support core shop floor data collection, MRP-driven order rescheduling, and production scheduling workflows, integrating order management and inventory control capabilities native to the Macola platform. Configuration focused on operational modules that unify shop floor execution with planning data, enabling planned order releases and real-time inventory reconciliation.
The implementation scope covered manufacturing operations and finance, with a phased rollout during Q4 2016 and planned go-live of Shop Floor workflows in January 2017. The program explicitly freed approximately $1 million in working capital and reduced inventory carrying costs by about 38 percent as part of tighter production planning and inventory visibility.
Governance for the rollout emphasized cross-functional process changes between operations, production planning and finance, moving shop floor workflows into scheduled operational use and reinforcing MRP governance for order prioritization. The Rite in the Rain deployment demonstrates how ECI Macola - Order Management can be used to centralize order and inventory controls, and to align manufacturing execution with financial working capital objectives.
