| SAP | Legacy | SAP Commerce Cloud (ex Hybris) | eCommerce | eCommerce | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
Rubix implemented SAP Commerce Cloud (ex Hybris) in 2018 to support eCommerce product catalog and online order capture for its distribution business functions. The SAP Commerce Cloud implementation was aligned with Rubix's Master Data Management strategy to centralize item master and product content management across the group.
The implementation emphasized product catalog and PIM workflows, storefront content management, pricing and promotions configuration, and order capture capabilities consistent with an eCommerce platform. SAP Commerce Cloud was configured to consume enriched product attributes and SKU hierarchies, and to expose catalog data to storefront and merchandising layers.
Integrations were organized around the Rubix MDM family, leveraging prior Hybris PIM experience and an ad-hoc built Master Data Management system at Rubix to onboard product data. As Project Manager for ERP and MDM migrations, the implementation team integrated large item sets into the Rubix MDM family, including the Orexad Group 1.2 million items and the Minetti Group 600,000 items as of March 2020, and those MDM feeds were used to populate commerce catalog data and product content.
Governance and rollout were managed as part of Rubix's M&A driven onboarding process, with a small central data and MDM team of six across Europe, mainly UK and Germany, responsible for ERP system and data ingestion into the Rubix MDM family. Future ERP integrations planned as part of this program included Zitec SAP, Biesheuvel AX Dynamics, Ireland K8 and Iceland ERP Systems, with SAP Commerce Cloud serving as the eCommerce catalog and storefront layer fed by the centralized MDM pipelines.
