In 2010 Safeway Insurance Company deployed Quadient Neopost IS-5000 as a Mailing System to centralize outgoing letter production and postage operations. The implementation supported creation and dispatch of correspondence to insureds and mortgage companies, including letters that accompany returned checks, and formalized mailroom processing for incoming items.
Quadient Neopost IS-5000 was configured to operate as the primary postage metering and mail finishing device, alongside letter composition and batch mail-run management. The solution was integrated into a document processing workflow that included scanning, imaging and indexing, with scanned checks, applications, endorsements, cancellations, inspection reports and claim documents routed into processing queues.
Scanned and indexed documents were pushed into Image Right as the imaging repository, and operational visibility was provided through Daily Reports sourced from the Report Server. The mailing operations included physical tasks such as operating the Neopost mail machine for postage and occasional PO Box pickup, tying the physical mail stream to electronic image and indexing workflows.
Operational governance emphasized bucketed routing for downstream processing, with mailroom staff scanning and assigning items to the correct processing queue for claims, underwriting, policy administration and accounting teams. Daily Report Server output was used to monitor throughput and support routine mailroom workflow management.
