The college targeted increased capacity utilization of buildings and a go-live for core academic scheduling software, with all scheduling requirements loaded into the new system so class schedules would be generated and fully utilized by students and academic schools.
New Finance and HR PeopleSoft ERP Systems were deployed across the 2016 fiscal year into the beginning of the 2017 fiscal year, with Oracle PeopleSoft ERP configured, tested, documented and staff trained on operational procedures. Historical data was imported successfully into the PeopleSoft environment and configuration included standard financial and human capital management functional workflows consistent with ERP Financial deployments.
PeopleSoft ERP software was fully installed in the Sault College environment, with the install completed to standards set by Oracle PeopleSoft and deployed onto Sault College’s dedicated ERP architecture. Niagara College and Sault College teams coordinated with the vendor to produce a working replica of Niagara College’s newly updated PeopleSoft software at Sault College to accelerate configuration and testing cycles.
Project governance included a full RFP process with proponent selection and award, and development of a formal work plan and project charter with the vendor to manage scope and deliverables.
