The implementation encompassed expense claim submission, approval routing, and interfacing with payroll payroll processes, reflecting standard Expense Management functional workflows for employee-created expenses and reimbursement processing. Paybooks concurrently handled payroll and HRIS processing for approximately 500 employees prior to a Paybooks to DB HRIS migration noted by the HR lead during the 2022 implementation period. Operationally the rollout was focused on Scaler’s India payroll and HR operations, embedding expense workflows into the existing Paybooks HR/payroll stack and requiring data migration and integration work tied to the transition toward DB HRIS. Governance adjustments aligned approval workflows with payroll cycles and centralized expense processing within HR and payroll operational ownership.
