In 2018 Scottish Natural Heritage implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as an ERP Financial solution, transitioning from Oracle E-Business Suite to a cloud native Oracle application suite. The deployment was completed in a 15 month program that consolidated core back office functions under Oracle Cloud ERP and aligned with the Scottish government digital strategy.
The implementation delivered Financials, Procurement, HR and Payroll modules within the Oracle Cloud ERP footprint, with SNH also adopting Oracle Recruitment Cloud and Oracle Learning Cloud as early adopters in Scotland. The technical architecture was an integrated Oracle Cloud applications suite, configured to support ledgers, procure to pay workflows, payroll processing and talent lifecycle capabilities consistent with ERP Financial operational patterns.
Evosys served as the systems integrator for the rollout, executing configuration, data conversion from Oracle E-Business Suite and cutover activities across SNH administrative functions. Operational coverage included SNH administrative sites and functions noted in Edinburgh and Inverness, with the solution intended to unify transactional finance, procurement and HR processes across the organisation.
Governance emphasized alignment with public sector digital strategy and cross functional process redesign to support cloud operational models, with lessons learnt captured in joint SNH Evosys Oracle briefings. A stated outcome of the transition was a reduction in on-premises server footprint in Edinburgh and Inverness, contributing to the NPF indicator to reduce Scotland's carbon footprint.

In 2018, Scottish Natural Heritage implemented Oracle Cloud HCM to centralize and modernize Core HR processes across the organization, consolidating HR administration, payroll interfacing and talent management under a single cloud application. Oracle Cloud HCM served as the Core HR platform within a broader cloud-first back-office transformation.
Scottish Natural Heritage completed the transition from Oracle EBS R12.1.3 to an integrated suite of Oracle Cloud applications across Financials, Procurement, HR and Payroll in 15 months, and deployed Oracle Cloud HCM alongside Oracle Recruitment Cloud and Oracle Learning Cloud as early adopters in Scotland. The implementation configured HR, payroll, recruitment and learning modules to operate as part of the unified Oracle Cloud suite and to support standard Core HR workflows such as workforce records, payroll feeds and recruitment lifecycle orchestration.
The deployment architecture used the integrated Oracle Cloud applications as a cloud SaaS backbone for back-office operations, with Evosys engaged as the implementation partner. Integrations were implemented across Finance, Procurement, HR and Payroll modules to provide shared master data and transactional consistency, and the operational coverage spanned HR, payroll and linked finance and procurement functions across the agency.
Governance and rollout were executed to align with the Scottish government digital strategy, and the program directly contributed to the National Performance Framework indicator to reduce Scotland's carbon footprint by enabling Scottish Natural Heritage to reduce the number of servers that they had to run in Edinburgh and Inverness. The project emphasis was on unified cloud operations, modular HR functionality and government alignment rather than incremental on-premise capacity.
