Sage Legacy Sage 50c Pastel Payroll Payroll HCM n/a 2014 2014
In 2014 Screens for Africa implemented Sage 50c Pastel Payroll as its core Payroll application for its Johannesburg, Gauteng manufacturing operations. The deployment supported a small company footprint of roughly 40 employees and was positioned as the primary Payroll system for employee compensation, statutory deductions and filings. Sage 50c Pastel Payroll was configured to manage employee master data, recurring pay runs, statutory tax and contribution calculations, and payroll reporting typical of Payroll systems. Configuration emphasis included calculation of SARS reporting elements, with statutory documents and returns prepared for SARS including income tax items and employer submissions referenced as EMP 201 and EMP 501 and VAT related filings. Operational governance was maintained by the company Senior Bookkeeper throughout the period, who administered payroll processing and prepared the statutory submissions to SARS. Payroll was operated alongside Pastel Accounting for income and expenditure accounting, with payroll journal entries produced to feed the accounting workflow and support reconciliation from bank statements to trial balance and required journal entries.
