In 2016, Seatrans Crewing deployed DNV ECO Insight across a 20 vessel program covering 13 chemical tankers and 7 dry cargo vessels to harmonize operational and technical reporting and improve fleet performance in the North Sea and Mediterranean region. The project is a Fleet Management implementation focused on centralized vessel performance visibility and standardized environmental KPI reporting across the fleet.
The implementation centered on the ECO Insight operational reporting and technical reporting capabilities together with environmental KPI monitoring, using standardized data models to enable cross‑vessel benchmarking and optimisation workflows. Configuration work included defining common KPI definitions, onboard data extraction templates, and fleet-level dashboards so operational teams could compare fuel consumption and voyage performance consistently.
Operational coverage targeted fleet operations and environmental reporting functions, with vessel-level instrumentation feeding consolidated analytics at the fleet level. Typical Fleet Management data flows such as onboard sensor and engine performance feeds, logbook and fuel reporting inputs were used to populate ECO Insight, enabling benchmarking across chemical tanker and dry cargo segments without introducing named third party systems.
Governance changes emphasized harmonized reporting processes and regular performance review forums, with the rollout executed at the vessel level to achieve consistent data collection across all 20 ships. The deployment delivered harmonized operational and technical reporting and enabled benchmarking and optimisation to reduce fuel consumption as part of Seatrans Crewing fleet management practices.
