PlanSource Legacy PlanSource Benefits Benefits Administration HCM n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Seminole County, FL implemented PlanSource Benefits as its Benefits Administration application. The county human resources organization used PlanSource Benefits to provision new hires, manage enrollments, and record benefit elections as integral steps in the onboarding lifecycle. Operational configuration centered on HR coordinators entering new employees into PlanSource Benefits and processing onboarding documentation such as motor vehicle records, background checks, and reference checks. Setup work focused on enrollment workflows, plan configuration, employee data provisioning, and role based access for benefits administrators and managers. User guides and training materials were created to support recurring new hire orientation and to standardize manager interactions with the system. PlanSource Benefits operated alongside NEOGOV for applicant tracking and candidate handoffs, the Halogen evaluation database for employee records, and the Percipio learning management system for onboarding training, creating operational handoffs between hiring, benefits enrollment, performance records, and LMS enrollment. These cross system workflows required coordination with IT for account provisioning and data handoff processes, and were executed by county HR staff across departments. Governance emphasized manager and department head training, twice monthly new hire orientation sessions, and documented procedures and user guides to enforce consistent benefits and onboarding workflows. Control of rollout and ongoing administration remained within the Seminole County Government HR organization.
