In 2016, Sepam implemented Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) as its ERP Financial platform to centralize finance, consolidation, and treasury processes. The deployment was anchored at the Clonmel head office for a global engineering, procurement, management and construction organization operating across the USA, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa and the Former Soviet Union, with a head office finance remit covering 20 legal entities.
The implementation emphasized core financial modules and configuration aligned to ERP Financial workloads, including general ledger consolidation, statutory financial reporting, month end close controls, budgeting and rolling forecasts, and treasury management. Sepam designed and introduced a head office finance structure to support consolidation of 20 global entities, and configured monthly and quarterly rolling forecast processes for Asia, MEA and Europe to align regional controllers with central reporting cycles.
Project execution included scoping third party consultants for the Sage Business Cloud X3 implementation and integration work to simplify consolidation flows, notably coordinating with a leading bank partner for treasury consolidation. Operational coverage extended from the Clonmel head office finance team of 15 through regional controllers and managing directors across the companys geographic footprint, establishing system touchpoints for statutory filings and audit schedules.
Governance changes were formalized alongside the application, with an enforced month end reporting policy for regional controllers and managing directors, a Global Audit Planning Lead role for scheduling regional audits and compliance follow up, and formal review gates for timely statutory financial statement sign off with regional controllers. Treasury management workstreams explicitly targeted simplification of the consolidation process with the bank partner, and the overall deployment was positioned to support the Group CFOs agenda for business process improvement and a more structured finance operating model.
