In 2014, Servair implemented Zetes Zeus to provide Real-Time Transportation Visibility across its aviation catering operations, enabling end-to-end traceability of stock and orders in production and loading workflows. The deployment was positioned to deliver continuous, up-to-date information to support high punctuality requirements and rapid operational decision making at Servair’s primary facilities.
The implementation included automated data collection and traceability modules, encompassing label printing, portable Intermec terminals, and a redeployed RF wireless infrastructure to achieve full wireless coverage across production and handling areas. ZetesInterscan led the solution design and deployment in partnership with Intermec, and the Zetes Zeus implementation captured item- and ingredient-level movement, supporting real-time management of orders and stock movements and enabling up to 45,000 scans per day.
Operational scope covered Servair’s main production site and subsequent rollouts to five additional sites in France, supporting the preparation and handling of 120,000 meal trays per day across 5,300 recipes. Business functions impacted included production control, dispatch, loading, inventory management, and recall responsiveness, with the system instrumenting tray tracking from preparation through loading.
Governance and operational reporting were formalized through back-end reporting and user-friendly terminals to standardize workflows and improve data accuracy and adoption across staff in production and logistics. The Zetes Zeus Real-Time Transportation Visibility implementation delivered comprehensive reporting, streamlined stock management, and documented improvements in efficiency and productivity, and Servair expanded the solution to additional sites based on these operational gains.
