In 2021, Simec implemented TeamSystem WMS to standardize warehouse operations and materials handling. The project was executed under the Warehouse Management discipline, targeting warehouse coordination, inventory control and ISO 9001 quality traceability across the site.
TeamSystem WMS was configured to support core Warehouse Management capabilities including inventory tracking, goods receipt, putaway and picking orchestration. The implementation documented management of Modula vertical warehouse equipment and Gra Warehouse components alongside standard WMS functionality, with configuration focused on slotting rules, task orchestration and operational role assignments.
Integrations were established during the start-up phase to connect TeamSystem WMS with plant MES systems and ERP management software, enabling material flow alignment between production and warehouse processes. Operational coverage centered on Simec warehouse coordinators, materials management clerks and the Operation Manager who also served as Quality Manager, providing direct oversight of WMS operations.
Governance and rollout emphasized formalizing warehouse procedures and embedding ISO 9001 traceability into WMS workflows, with the Operation Manager coordinating the start-up of WMS, MES and ERP interfaces. Responsibility for day to day WMS configuration and warehouse software management rested with in house operations and quality leadership, aligning warehouse processes to standardized materials management practices within TeamSystem WMS.
