| In-House Applications | Legacy | XCEED (eXtended Compliance End-to-End Distributed) | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2019 | 2019 | In 2019 Simoldes participated in the deployment of XCEED eXtended Compliance End-to-End Distributed, a Blockchain Platform designed to certify vehicle component compliance across Renault partner plants in Europe. XCEED eXtended Compliance End-to-End Distributed establishes a distributed ledger for end to end traceability and conformity certification, linking design to production records while maintaining explicit data ownership and privacy controls. The implementation centered on compliance certification and traceability modules that record safety and regulatory features, geometric characteristics, and material properties. The solution combines an open source blockchain protocol with Big Data management and Artificial Intelligence to orchestrate data ingestion, automated QR code capture, and rule based conformity validation, enabling networked transactions that are resistant to falsification. Deployment architecture was built as a partner network initially rolled out in factories around Bursa, Douai and Palencia, with contributing industrial participants including Faurecia, Renault Group, Knauf Industries, Simoldes and Coşkunöz working alongside IBM. Operational coverage spans supplier to OEM workflows, explicitly including small and medium sized suppliers, and is intended to act as a shared compliance ledger across the European automotive supply chain. Governance and operational changes focused on shared ownership of data, privacy and intellectual property protections, and the elimination of manual, value added factory operations through automated QR capture and pooled data storage. Process transformation emphasized supplier quality management and certification workflows, enabling collaborative inspection records and standardized conformity attestations across partners. Explicit outcomes published for the project include projected productivity gains of 15 to 30 percent for affected services, a 10 percent reduction in costs for non quality and non compliance management, and a halving of occurrence and cost of non compliance. The roadmap described extending XCEED to capture software, repair and maintenance, homologation, battery recycling and CO2 footprint data, and opening the platform to other manufacturers and hundreds of global suppliers. |
