In 2015 Sirap UK implemented Sage 50cloud to provide ERP Financial capabilities for its Sedgefield manufacturing operation. The deployment supported core accounts and payroll functions and was used to administer payroll for approximately 225 temporary and permanent staff while operating within the Sirap UK finance team structure of 106 employees.
Sage 50cloud was used as the primary payroll and accounting application, covering weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll processing, high volume starter and leaver processing, calculation of SSP, SMP and SPP, FP submissions, and automated AE pension deductions with online payment processing. Financial modules and routine accounting capabilities included purchase invoice capture, petty cash posting, bank receipts, allocation of sales and purchase ledger payments, bank reconciliation, VAT returns, EC Sales submission and Intrastat submission, and preparation of monthly and year end accounts.
Operational coverage extended across accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll activities at the Sedgefield site, with daily interaction with customers and suppliers and reconciliation of supplier statements. The implementation supported HMRC interactions for tax code queries and routine statutory reporting, and it was used to keep purchase ledgers tidy and up to date as part of ongoing bookkeeping discipline.
Governance and process workflows emphasized reconciliations and periodic statutory submissions, including bank reconciliations, supplier statement reconciliation, VAT and EC Sales reporting, and month end and year end account close procedures.
