The deployment was scoped to support order intake through fulfillment orchestration for a 30 person professional services company operating in the United States, aligning sales order workflows with inventory controls.
The implementation configured Zoho Inventory modules for sales order management, inventory allocation, fulfillment workflows, packing and shipping templates, and automated order status updates. Automation rules were used to reserve stock at order entry, generate pick lists and packing information, and programmatically trigger shipment creation within Zoho Inventory.
Integration work centered on direct API connectivity to UPS Shipment Soap and Rest APIs, enabling programmatic creation of shipments, label generation, and the return of tracking numbers into Zoho Inventory. The architecture relied on Zoho Inventory as the cloud hosted application with API orchestration to UPS services to close the order to shipment loop and keep sales and operations teams synchronized.
Governance changes included role based access control in Zoho Inventory, configured approval gates for high value orders, and revised fulfillment workflows to route orders into the automated shipment process. Rollout followed a phased approach by order type and involved operational training for sales and fulfillment staff to adopt the new automated Sales Order to Shipment Processing System using Zoho Inventory.
