In 2016, SJF Ventures implemented ShipMonk, adopting ShipMonk as its Shipping Management solution to centralize ecommerce fulfillment and inventory management. The deployment was sized for a 20 employee, United States based organization and focused on operationalizing order-to-ship workflows and SKU level inventory visibility across the small company footprint.
The implementation concentrated on core fulfillment and inventory capabilities, including inventory management and reconciliation, order processing and fulfillment orchestration, pick pack and ship workflow configuration, and returns handling. Configuration prioritized SKU tracking, warehouse tasking rules, and inventory-ledger synchronization to support operational control by the logistics and finance functions.
Integrations were designed around typical Shipping Management patterns, with the platform configured to synchronize order and inventory data with ecommerce storefronts, carrier shipping services, and internal accounting records, enabling a single operational record of stock and order status. Operational coverage included the operations and finance teams, with fulfillment processes executed from a centralized cloud-based service architecture to reduce manual reconciliation.
Governance and process work focused on standardizing fulfillment procedures, establishing inventory stewardship and role based access for operations and finance users, and onboarding warehouse staff to new pick pack ship and returns processes.
