In 2015 SLTMobitel implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial application to centralize core financial and project accounting processes. The implementation targeted configuration of finance and projects modules and established Oracle E-Business Suite as the primary system for chart of accounts and transactional posting.
The deployment included extensive techno-functional configuration and custom development work, covering solution design, system configurations for finance and projects, and chart of account development and mapping. Development artifacts and customizations included Oracle Application Framework pages, Workflow customizations, BI Publisher reports, Concurrent programs, and WebADI scripts, alongside Oracle Apex developments for supplemental interfaces and reporting.
Integrations were implemented using web services and file-based interfaces, and operations emphasis included monitoring and running interfaces as part of production support. Data migration activities and interface testing were performed during the rollout, and ongoing integrations with third-party systems were supported through bespoke interface processes and technical troubleshooting.
Governance and operational coverage incorporated requirement gathering, testing of deliverables including interfaces, and end user training coordinated with the ERP solution architecture team. The implementation covered core asset management capabilities consistent with an Enterprise Asset Management category deployment, including asset register and capital accounting, work order and maintenance scheduling, and integration with purchasing and inventory workflows. The broader footprint included Purchasing, Inventory, Project Management, Accounting and Finance, configured to support end-to-end procure to pay and asset lifecycle processes within the ERP stack.
Operational coverage ran across Sri Lanka operations and intersected finance, procurement, project management and network operations teams, reflecting an enterprise scope for asset and financial control. The program included integration with Oracle Business Intelligence, OBIEE, for reporting and executive analytics, and the E-Business Suite Enterprise Asset Management application was restated as the transactional system of record for assets and related financial entries.
Project governance followed Oracle Unified Methodology OUM, with formal ERP organization adaptation and change management activities embedded in the rollout. The November go-live was reported as a successful execution under the project lead, and post-go-live activities focused on stabilization and embedding operational workflows for asset and financial processes.
