In 2019, Smartbox Group implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its core ERP Financial platform, replacing Microsoft Dynamics AX. The deployment targeted corporate finance and operations in County Dublin, Ireland, aligning the application with the companys finance organization across a 1100 person headcount.
The Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations implementation focused on core financial management capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, procurement and financial reporting. Configuration work emphasized multientity financial structures, consolidated reporting data entities and role based security to support centralized accounting and treasury workflows.
The solution leveraged Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations standard data entities and API surface to enable integration readiness with Smartbox Group enterprise systems, while maintaining a cloud native deployment posture consistent with the Dynamics 365 architecture. Integration patterns were scoped to support transactional data flows for procurement, inventory accounting and order to cash financial posting, using the platforms extensibility model and data orchestration capabilities.
Operational governance included an in house Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Developer role beginning in August 2019 to provide ongoing configuration, customizations and support. Project governance concentrated on staged configuration, stabilization of financial master data and the establishment of controlled financial close procedures, with role based access and change management processes to manage application lifecycle and release updates.
