Hum Legacy Hum CDP Customer Data Platform CRM n/a 2022 2022
In 2022, Society For Scholarly Publishing deployed Hum CDP, using the Customer Data Platform to connect Scholarly Kitchen reader engagement with society membership records to support marketing and event promotion in the United States. The implementation targeted creation of unified customer profiles and actionable segments to drive targeted email campaigns and event outreach. The implementation leveraged Hum CDP's Audience Explorer to assemble connected profiles and build targeted segments from behavioral signals and membership attributes. Standard Customer Data Platform capabilities were applied, including deterministic profile stitching, persistent identifiers for members, and segment activation workflows to enable campaign orchestration. Integrations linked Hum CDP to core systems, explicitly the CMS, the AMS, and the MarTech stack, enabling bidirectional sync of profile data and audience exports for campaign execution. Operational scope focused on membership and marketing functions for U.S. audiences, using the connected profile layer to centralize audience definitions for event promotion and member outreach. Governance established shared segmentation rules and targeting workflows between membership and marketing teams to accelerate campaign rollout and maintain profile hygiene. Hum CDP produced rapid scale in connected profiles, growing from approximately 300 to approximately 4,000 in two weeks, and SSP reported large uplifts in email open and click rates for targeted campaigns.
