In 2020, Soudronic deployed Operations1 to digitalize inspection and test documentation across machines. The Manufacturing Execution System was applied to quality and inspection processes in Switzerland and internationally.
Operations1 was configured to manage digital inspection/protocols and work-instruction management, enabling standardized capture of test results and automated protocol generation at the machine level. The implementation emphasized operator-facing inspection workflows, versioned work instructions, and electronic protocol templates aligned with Manufacturing Execution System functionality. Configuration focused on document control, template management, and in-line inspection capture to replace paper records.
Rollout began in early 2020 and expanded from Swiss sites to international operations, aligning inspection governance and audit trails across locations. The deployment restructured inspection and documentation processes, centralizing protocol management and standardizing work instruction distribution to support consistent quality assurance practice. Governance included standardized recordkeeping and electronic signoffs to formalize inspection workflows.
Soudronic reported a reduction in documentation effort by ~95% and annual savings of ~€180,000 following the Operations1 implementation. The case underscores Operations1 as a Manufacturing Execution System applied to quality and inspection functions, with focused modules for digital inspection/protocols and work-instruction management.
