In 2012, SoutheastHEALTH implemented Siemens Novius as part of its acquisition of the Siemens Soarian enterprise suite. The deployment embedded Siemens Novius to provide centralized laboratory management and result reporting across SoutheastHEALTH regional facilities in Missouri, aligning the application with the Laboratory Management category requirements.
The Siemens Novius implementation focused on core Laboratory Management capabilities, centralizing result reporting, specimen lifecycle visibility, and the orchestration of lab order to result workflows. Configuration emphasized unified reporting and clinical result distribution to support clinician access across sites while maintaining laboratory operational control.
Architecture used a hosted services model provided by Servir LLC and integrated Siemens Novius with the Siemens Soarian enterprise EHR, creating a single clinical information flow between laboratory systems and inpatient and outpatient clinical modules. The deployment covered multiple regional facilities in Missouri, enabling shared laboratory data and result reporting across the health system.
Governance was organized as an enterprise level rollout tied to the broader Soarian EHR program, with clinical workflow alignment and centralized change control to accelerate adoption. The program was explicitly intended to speed implementation and improve clinical workflow and data sharing across the region, with Siemens Novius positioned as the system of record for laboratory results.
