In 2013, SPAR Austria implemented Serrala FinanceSuite as its AP Automation platform to centralize invoice processing for its retail finance function. The deployment positioned Serrala FinanceSuite as the core application for accounts payable workflows within SPAR Austria, aligning invoice intake, approvals, and payment orchestration under a single AP Automation solution.
The implementation emphasized document capture and classification, three way and two way matching logic, configurable approval workflow automation, exception handling and escalation, electronic invoice archiving, and supplier self service capabilities. Architecturally the solution was integrated with SPAR Austria finance and procurement landscapes through batch and file based interfaces to enterprise financial systems, and through banking connectivity for payment execution and reconciliation. Operational coverage targeted accounts payable and treasury processes across SPAR Austria operations, consolidating invoice processing across retail units into a centralized AP Automation control plane.
Governance and rollout were structured around process standardization, centralization of invoice exceptions, and defined approval hierarchies, with supplier onboarding and change management to align procurement and finance stakeholders. The program focused on embedding Serrala FinanceSuite into existing AP and procurement workflows while establishing operational ownership for ongoing invoice lifecycle management.

| InterSystems | Legacy | InterSystems IMAge POS | Point Of Sale | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2010 | 2012 |
In 2010, SPAR Austria implemented InterSystems IMAge POS on the InterSystems data platform to deliver an end-to-end ERP and Point Of Sale solution across its stores in Austria and neighbouring markets. The deployment positioned InterSystems IMAge POS as both the transactional POS layer and a core element of store-level ERP, centralizing sales, inventory and ordering data for retail operations.
The implementation used the IMAge local module to manage the POS cashier system, tying cashier transactions directly to inventory control, order orchestration and delivery tracking to provide a unified operational view for store managers. Functional capabilities explicitly included point-of-sale transaction processing, store inventory visibility, order and delivery management, and consolidated sales reporting consistent with grocery retail workflows.
Rollout expanded from a pilot to hundreds of stores, extending the InterSystems data platform across the retail estate and empowering local store managers with a single view of sales, inventory, orders and deliveries. Governance and operational scope focused on in-store operations across Austria and neighbouring markets, enabling decentralized decision-making and tighter stock control as described in the InterSystems case study.
