| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle NetSuite ERP | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Sportsmans Supply implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP under the ERP Financial category to unify wholesale order-to-cash and vendor interactions across its 100,000 plus square foot distribution facility in Fenton, Missouri. The deployment prioritized tight integration with EDI and supplier onboarding to support high-volume wholesale trading and extensive catalog management.
Oracle NetSuite ERP was configured with document exchange workflows and the Built for NetSuite integration bundle to automate purchase orders, invoices, acknowledgements, and catalog synchronization. A management by exception design and powerful automation for key document processing were implemented, and a custom ASN solution was built in two weeks to support advanced shipping notice workflows.
The implementation leveraged TrueCommerce’s EDI and Supplier Enablement solutions, including the TrueCommerce OneTime supplier enablement platform, to rapidly onboard trading partners and automate supplier interactions. TrueCommerce’s Built for NetSuite certified integration enabled seamless document exchange with NetSuite, supported coexistence with SPS Commerce via an existing plug-in for vendors that did not switch, and handled catalog management for approximately 120,000 SKUs while onboarding 30 vendors with typical turnaround times of 10 days and new customers trading in about 5 days.
Rollout followed a standardized onboarding strategy that produced a live EDI-integrated NetSuite environment in 60 days, with governance and operational oversight concentrated in supply chain, wholesale operations, vendor enablement, and fulfillment functions. Reported outcomes include a 60 day implementation completion, 30 vendors set up with roughly 10 day turnaround each, new customers onboarded and trading in about 5 days on average, a custom ASN delivered in two weeks, and a cost-effective platform the company states pays for itself in under a year.
