In 2022, Spy Alarms implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as its ERP Financial platform, deploying it alongside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service to modernize core business operations. The deployment was delivered with implementation partner Infinity Group and targeted the company’s commercial, service desk, field service, and sales operations across the group that serves more than 45,000 customers in the south-east of England.
The implementation configured Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to handle finance management and transactional workflows that support faster quotation creation and order processing for the sales team, while Dynamics 365 Field Service addressed field scheduling and service appointment orchestration. Configuration work emphasized service desk workflow automation and resource scheduling capabilities, reducing manual booking steps and enabling mobile access for field technicians.
Integrations implemented during the rollout include Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service, Power BI for embedded analytics, and Microsoft Teams for collaboration and real-time information sharing, enabling sales and field users to access business data both in the office and in the field. The project also consolidated processes across Spy Alarms’ acquired businesses, aligning commercial and service workflows to the new ERP Financial structure and improving the availability of unified operational data.
Governance and rollout were led by the Group Technical Director with commercial sponsorship from the Group CEO and execution support from Infinity Group, delivered in staged waves to secure user adoption across service and sales teams. Operational outcomes explicitly reported include streamlining a service interview booking from five to six minutes down to seconds, optimization of resource scheduling that decreased mileage, and faster quotation creation, all enabled by Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and connected Dynamics 365 applications and analytics.
