In 2009, Steuben implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP to consolidate core ERP Financial workflows within its finance organization at Steuben Glass, LLC in Corning, New York. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP provided the central financial system of record for accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, inventory valuation controls, treasury management and benefits payment coordination.
The implementation configured PeopleSoft capabilities to support daily sales reporting and flash reporting, monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, weekly debt monitoring, and annual physical inventory support. Accounts receivable operations were managed with MACS, and MACS was operated alongside Oracle PeopleSoft ERP to ensure accurate AR reporting and collections tracking. Treasury functions included calculation and management of weekly and monthly borrowing base figures, and the system environment was used to coordinate pension plan and 401K wire scheduling.
Operational coverage focused on the finance function at the Corning site, with responsibilities spanning accounts receivable, general ledger, treasury, inventory control and benefits payments. Integration patterns emphasized AR data exchange between MACS and Oracle PeopleSoft ERP, and regular sales and flash file updates were maintained to support period end reporting and compliance activities.
Governance and process changes embedded into the implementation included a monthly cadence for balance sheet reconciliations, weekly debt review workflows, and routine reconciliation steps tied to physical inventory and payroll wire processing. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP served as the authoritative ERP Financial application for these controlled finance processes and reporting workflows.
