In 2020 Stockton Unified School District deployed Destiny Resource Manager as its Inventory Management solution to expand districtwide technology and instructional materials tracking during COVID-19 school closures. The deployment covered 54 schools in California and was scoped to manage Chromebook, hotspot, and textbook distribution at the school level while providing district-level visibility.
Destiny Resource Manager was configured to support asset tagging, barcode scanning, check-in and check-out workflows, and consolidated reporting and recovery processes typical of Inventory Management implementations. The system tracked more than 40,000 devices, and operational use centered on device lifecycle tracking, inventory reconciliation, and recovery workflow automation to reduce duplicate service charges for hotspots and to improve district reporting.
Rollout was executed as a districtwide expansion during closures, aligning technology services and instructional materials teams under centralized inventory governance and standardized recovery procedures. The implementation delivered consolidated inventory visibility across sites and supported cost control measures by enabling reconciliation of hotspot service charges and more effective device recovery.
