| Infor | Legacy | Infor SunSystems | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2015 | 2016 |
In 2015 Stroke Association implemented Infor SunSystems as its core ERP Financial application to centralize accounting and support the finance function across the organisation. Infor SunSystems was positioned as the authoritative ledger for month end close and management accounts workflows.
The implementation configured discrete financial capabilities including accounts receivable processing, deferred and accrual income analysis, monthly prepayment and rollover journal creation, bank reconciliations, and prepaid card issuance and management for coordinators and volunteer groups. The finance team used Infor SunSystems to capture accounting entries after invoices were issued, and to maintain control over the release of income into the Income and Expenditure Account as part of the management accounts timetable.
Integrations were implemented to support the operational flow of contract and invoice data, specifically the download of contract invoice details totaling over annually from CRM into CSB for validation before posting into the Sun ledger. The operational scope covered regional finance teams through to the Credit Control department, with monthly reporting produced for Regional Heads of Operations, Country Directors, Director of Operations for the UK, and Director of Finance and Resources.
Process governance was formalized to ensure development and maintenance of internal financial controls and to harmonise finance processes to avoid duplication and improve departmental effectiveness. Workflow controls included validation and rejection of CRM-submitted data, prompting regions when contract or invoice releases fell behind schedule, sign off of bank reconciliations with Head of Finance review, and responsibility for credit control operations. The finance team also contributed to design of interfaces and processes for new system developments where those systems would receive money, pay money, or produce financial and management reporting.
Infor SunSystems therefore served as the Stroke Association ERP Financial backbone for core accounting, receivables orchestration, prepayment and accrual management, bank reconciliation, and credit control governance across regional and central finance functions.
