In 2022 Sunshine Private Hospital implemented UKG Ready Accruals Manager to support Absence and Leave Management across its new hospital operations in Melbourne’s western region. The deployment was part of a broader selection of UKG Ready modules aimed at establishing workforce management and HRIS practices from day one at the greenfield facility, ensuring consistent handling of complex healthcare awards and 24/7 pay rules.
Sunshine Private Hospital configured the full UKG Ready suite to cover Time & Attendance, Scheduler Rostering, Accruals Leave, Attestation, Core HR, Recruitment, Performance Management, Compensation Management and Learning. UKG Ready Accruals Manager was configured to govern accrual rules and leave workflows, while Time & Attendance and Scheduler modules were used to automate shift assignment and time capture consistent with healthcare staffing patterns.
The implementation integrated workforce management and human capital management into a single operational platform, and included device and access integrations such as UKG TouchFree ID clocks and employee mobile device clocking and self service. Operational coverage extended across HR, payroll related processing, rostering teams and People & Culture functions, reflecting the requirements of continuous, round the clock clinical operations.
Governance changes focused on structured onboarding and simplified leave request and approval workflows to support a large intake of new employees. Process automation reduced manual data entry and shifted operational ownership toward People & Culture for ongoing configuration and attestation workflows, with UKG supporting configuration and implementation activities during the rollout.
Results documented by the customer include automation of manually performed tasks, a reduction in human error related to time and leave processing, employees using UKG Ready Accruals Manager via TouchFree ID and mobile devices to clock in and manage leave, fewer payroll correction queries, and restored management time to focus on teams and patient care.
