In 2017, Surge Energy implemented the InstaNext CTRM to manage gas and crude oil hedging, coverage analysis, and P&L reconciliation for its Canadian E&P operations. The deployment addressed commodity position capture, hedge execution workflow, and P&L reconciliation processes using a CTRM platform tailored to upstream production and marketing flows.
Configuration work focused on hedge lifecycle management, mark to market and mark to model accounting feeds, and coverage analysis modules to align hedging decisions with production schedules and sales contracts. Implementation scoped functional coverage across trading, finance, and production groups, supporting routine reconciliation and coverage reporting for Canadian sites and corporate reporting.
The InstaNext relationship predated the vendor acquisition, and the installed solution is represented as the AEGIS Hedging CTRM following that corporate change, therefore Surge Energy is associated with the AEGIS Hedging CTRM application. The implementation centralized commodity risk workflows and established CTRM governance controls between commercial trading and finance teams without named third party integrations specified.
