Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2012 2013
In 2012 Savanna Energy Service implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize core accounting and financial reporting. The engagement was executed alongside operational system support provided by inhouse System Analyst Specialists who handled business analysis, application configuration, customization, training, and day to day support for both finance and operations teams. Microsoft Dynamics GP was configured for finance and reporting workflows, with a conversion from FRx to Management Reporter and the creation of SQL and Excel based reports to support management reporting. The program included deployment and configuration of WennSoft Equipment and Preventative Maintenance modules, implementation of an Equipment Rentals module, deployment of the WennSoft Job Cost module to replace a manual AFE process, and the rollout of a requisitioning solution using ReQlogic. Integrations were explicitly built between the Equipment Usage Capture solution, WennSoft, and Microsoft Dynamics GP to capture rig level usage and feed job costing and maintenance records. Operational coverage included rig level implementations and a focused period of standardization work in Australia as well as ongoing support from the Calgary area, impacting finance, operations, maintenance, procurement, and job costing functions. Governance and process work included creation of key metrics for decision making, assistance with an application roadmap and an IT strategy, and structured training and support activities to embed new workflows. One stated operational outcome from the WennSoft Equipment and Preventative Maintenance deployment was a 50% decrease in maintenance costs, and reporting improvements were delivered through the Management Reporter conversion and bespoke SQL reporting.
