| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Azure Data Explorer | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Taboola implemented Microsoft Azure Data Explorer to perform near-real-time analysis of edge delivery logs for its content-recommendation platform in the United States, aligning the project with Analytics and BI requirements for operational and product analytics. The implementation aimed to surface delivery and latency signals at the edge and shorten the time from event to insight for operations and product teams.
Microsoft Azure Data Explorer ingested Fastly streaming logs that were persisted into Azure Blob Storage, creating a streaming-to-blob ingestion pipeline that supported high throughput query and exploratory analytics. The configuration processed terabytes per day, reported at roughly 17 TB per day, and the environment was onboarded rapidly, with initial onboarding completed in about a week, enabling quick ramp of dashboards and ad hoc queries.
Operational scope centered on edge delivery telemetry and product analytics workflows, enabling instant detection and correction of latency issues and faster insight delivery to operations and product stakeholders. The deployment emphasized scalable ingestion, near-real-time query capability, and a simplified operational analytics stack using Microsoft Azure Data Explorer for Analytics and BI across Taboola's U.S. edge delivery footprint.
