Sage Legacy Sage 500 ERP (formerly MAS 500) ERP Financial ERP n/a 2017 2018
In 2017, Taco Bueno integrated Sage 500 ERP (formerly MAS 500) as its ERP Financial system to centralize franchised restaurant accounting under Sun Holdings. The project was driven by accounting leadership at Sun Holdings and focused on embedding Sage 500 ERP into core accounting workflows for multi-unit operations. The Sage 500 ERP deployment covered full cycle accounting functionality, including general ledger consolidation, accounts payable, revenue recognition workflows, inventory data upload, sales data upload, monthly accrual processing, and account reconciliations. Configuration work emphasized multi-entity chart of accounts and consolidated financial statement generation to support reporting across franchised units. Operational integration centered on bringing the newly acquired Taco Bueno entity into existing Sun Holdings financial processes and Sage 500 ERP, supporting accounting for 117 Taco Bueno restaurants, 80 GNC stores, and one airport restaurant. The implementation touched the accounting department, including three accountants, four AP clerks, and two revenue clerks, and produced consolidated financial statements reflecting total revenues in excess of $130M. Process and governance changes accompanied the technical deployment, with standardized Excel templates developed for sales uploads, monthly accruals, deposits verification, inventory uploads, delivery payment reconciliation, credit card reconciliation, deferred rent accounting, and franchisee billing. Monthly, quarterly, and annual close workflows were coordinated centrally, and staff hiring, training, and mentoring were formalized to sustain the Sage 500 ERP operational model. Measured operational outcomes documented during rollout included verification and revision of balance sheet reconciliations, recovery of more than $200,000 in escrow deposits and property tax overpayments, and a reduction in cash shortages from $23,000 to $4,000 per period after procedural changes were implemented.

Oracle Legacy Oracle MICROS for Restaurants Point Of Sale ERP Services and Operations n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Taco Bueno implemented Oracle MICROS for Restaurants. The deployment established Oracle MICROS for Restaurants as the core Point Of Sale platform at store level, with documented front-line use at the Maumelle, Arkansas location supporting order entry in drive-thru and counter operations. The implementation centered on standard Point Of Sale capabilities, including real-time order entry and routing to kitchen operations, shift open and close workflows, and cash management procedures such as bundling tills and end-of-shift drawer counts. Front-of-house functionality supported order-taking and ticketing, while kitchen-facing order routing enabled cooks to receive and fulfill orders entered through the POS. Operational coverage included store-level retail functions, drive-thru order processing, shift management, and cash reconciliation workflows. The POS became the operational control point for opening and closing procedures, with staff responsibilities documented around till handling, drawer countdowns, and order transmission to the kitchen via the micros system. Governance and process changes were centered on defining shift-level responsibilities and embedding POS-driven controls into daily operations, for example standardized opening and closing checklists tied to POS reconciliations. The narrative links Taco Bueno, Oracle MICROS for Restaurants, Point Of Sale and core business functions of front-of-house order management, kitchen order routing, and cash governance.
