Cloudera Legacy Cloudera Data Science Workbench ML and Data Science Platforms AI Development n/a 2022 2022
In 2022, Vivo Brazil deployed Cloudera Data Science Workbench as a core element of its ML and Data Science Platforms footprint to support Fraud Analytics. The Cloudera Data Science Workbench installation was positioned to centralize model development and productionization for teams serving internal partner areas across the business. The implementation emphasized model development and operational modules, including interactive notebook and job scheduling environments, model training on Apache Spark using PySpark, and support for classification, forecasting, and clustering workflows. Cloudera Data Science Workbench was used to author, test, and package models, and to orchestrate repeatable training workflows consistent with ML and Data Science Platforms patterns. The environment was integrated with Vivo Brazil data sources and processing layers including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka, HBASE, and BI systems such as SQLSERVER, TERADATA, and ORACLE, enabling end to end data access from feature engineering through model scoring. Operational coverage centered on the Fraud Analytics function in São Paulo Brazil, with outputs delivered to multiple partner teams across the organization. Governance and deployment followed an MLOps approach, implementing the CDSW MLOPS structure to manage model lifecycle, versioning, and production rollout. The project established standardized pipelines and collaboration processes between data scientists and downstream stakeholders, and models developed in Cloudera Data Science Workbench were delivered into production environments using the CDSW MLOPS structure to serve partner areas.
