In 2016, Teridion deployed Google Cloud Machine Learning Engine to change how its routing service handled network faults. The ML and Data Science Platforms implementation focused on shifting from reactive detection to predictive routing by embedding model training and inference into operational workflows.
Teridion used Google Cloud Machine Learning Engine together with BigQuery to ingest and learn from telemetry and routing data, building prediction models that anticipated network problems. Implementation work centered on data pipelines, feature extraction from collected telemetry, model training on Cloud Machine Learning Engine, and serving predictions for routing decision logic.
Operationally the work impacted network operations and the core routing service, with prediction outputs fed back into the routing control path to avoid predicted issues. Governance emphasized continuous learning and model refresh cycles driven by the data collected, enabling the routing service to move from reacting to incidents to predicting and avoiding them.
