The Sterling Background Check deployment was centered on the corporate office in Annapolis, MD and intended to support talent acquisition and operations across Towne Park’s footprint in 50+ national markets.
Sterling Background Check was configured to process candidate-level pre-hire screenings including criminal record searches, driving record information, SSN verifications, OIG and sexual offender registry checks, and drug screening coordination. The implementation included result tracking, generation and delivery of Clearance Letters to clients when required, storage of screening records for audit readiness, and support for post-hire and recurring screening workflows.
Operational design reflected close alignment with Towne Park’s HR and recruiting processes, with staff familiarity noted for Workday software, First Advantage and SterlingONE. The deployment was positioned to coexist with existing HR data flows and screening toolsets, supporting communications between Talent Acquisitions, operations and external clients.
Governance and process changes emphasized case tracking, issue resolution and escalation procedures, and audit-ready record keeping managed by the Background Screening Services team. Roles and responsibilities included communicating screening statuses to stakeholders, maintaining safety and risk management procedures, and ensuring consistent administration of screenings to Towne Park standards.
