In 2013 Toyota Germany deployed Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 as part of Toyota Motor Europe’s program to standardize Vehicle Order Management, using Oracle E-Business Suite in the ERP Financial category to centralize order-to-invoice and allocation workflows. The implementation targeted a 13-country footprint and prepared targeted rollouts into Germany and the UK, aligning the Toyota Germany Vehicle Order Management application with broader TME wholesale sales and retailer ordering operations.
The Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 implementation encompassed the complete sales process from order capture through delivery, invoicing, and retailer compensation payouts, configuring Vehicle Order Management capabilities such as order management, allocation, delivery scheduling, invoicing, and compensation workflow orchestration. The upgrade replaced a client-based application model with a fully integrated server-centric configuration, simplifying configuration and removing the need to install client software on each retailer machine.
Oracle Consulting and Infosys executed a proof of concept in September 2010 to validate multi-country roll-out behavior and to surface potential issues, enabling a June 2011 go-live across 13 countries to meet differing national sales cycle timelines; the migration caused minimal production disruption during the implementation weekend and processed 1,258 car orders through the VOM system in the first day. The deployment integrated retailer ordering, customer availability inquiries, and delivery date responses across national marketing and sales companies, preparing Toyota Germany for subsequent scaling across TME’s European sales network.
Governance and rollout planning emphasized country-specific timing and a phased roll-out, with Infosys as an implementation partner and Oracle Consulting supporting configuration and cutover. Explicit outcomes recorded in the program include up to a 40 percent reduction in retailer response time on availability and delivery enquiries, reduced lead times, enhanced vehicle allocation, and lower stock levels, while the upgraded Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1 delivered a more scalable, supported platform for ongoing European VOM operations.
