In 2019, Tranco Logistics implemented McLeod Financing as part of its Distribution ERP footprint. The deployment targeted the VW Transportation Department in Chattanooga, Tennessee and supported core operational functions including dispatch, DOT compliance, customer service and backhaul distribution.
McLeod Financing was configured to manage freight billing and accounts receivable workflows, channeling driver generated paperwork such as driver logs, DVIRs, trip reports and invoices into a structured invoice readiness and financing workflow. The Logistics Coordinator role was enabled to enter, update and maintain load and shipment information in McLeod Financing and to prepare documentation for billing and for submission of timecards to payroll. These configurations reflect Distribution ERP functional capabilities around dispatch integration, billing orchestration and carrier settlement workflows.
The implementation included an explicit operational interface with Peoplenet for monitoring pickup and delivery ETAs, and established procedures to forward driver hours and timecard information into payroll processes. Operational coverage spanned coordination between Logistics Coordinators, Fleet Services for equipment repair status, and the Safety Manager for recording and addressing DOT violations. Staff used McLeod Financing to update customer status and internal Tranco web status as part of order processing and invoicing workflows.
Governance changes formalized responsibilities for dispatching, document collection, DOT compliance checks and invoice gating with Logistics Coordinators, supported by ongoing job training and defined escalation paths to senior management. Controls emphasized verification of driver paperwork prior to invoicing and clear integration points for telematics ETA monitoring and payroll submission. The implementation positions McLeod Financing as the Distribution ERP application coordinating billing, compliance documentation, dispatch status and equipment maintenance signals across Tranco Logistics operations.

In 2020, Tranco Logistics upgraded to McLeod LoadMaster as its core Transportation Management application, integrating LoadMaster with an ISAAC Instruments ELD and telematics solution to support its fleet of roughly 125 trucks and about 130 drivers. Tranco Logistics implemented this configuration to centralize dispatch planning, hours of service monitoring, imaging workflows, and driver feasibility calculations across both over-the-road long hauls and shorter dedicated runs.
The deployment of McLeod LoadMaster included Order Planning and Driver Feasibility capabilities, and was extended with McLeod’s DocumentPower and the Symphony Mobile Communications module to handle document capture and mobile messaging. The implementation used pre-populated load fields passed to the ISAAC tablet, an imaging workflow that requires electronic capture of bills of lading and ancillary receipts, and HOS telemetry feeds to drive feasibility checks and arrival or departure notifications.
Integration architecture linked ISAAC’s ELD, tablet, and InRealTime portal to McLeod LoadMaster, enabling bi-directional data flows for location, HOS, trailer assignments, and captured images. Dispatchers used the ISAAC InRealTime portal alongside LoadMaster screens to view truck positions, HOS remaining, and flagged loads, while images captured on the ISAAC tablet flowed into DocumentPower for back-office access and master file synchronization.
Rollout and operational governance emphasized technician-led hardware installation in Tranco’s shop, user training, and ongoing vendor support from both ISAAC and McLeod. Driver onboarding and ELD training were streamlined, with ELD training time reported to drop from 90 minutes to about 30 minutes, and remote tablet access was used to reduce dispatcher troubleshooting time.
Explicit outcomes reported by Tranco Logistics include faster time to bill through integrated imaging and workflows, a reduction in days sales outstanding due to quicker document availability, improved dispatcher efficiency through live HOS and location visibility, and operational confidence in LoadMaster Driver Feasibility to help ensure on-time deliveries. The combined McLeod LoadMaster and ISAAC solution supported Transportation Management, driver ease of use, and tighter synchronization between field operations and back-office invoicing.
