In 2024 Underwood Meat Company implemented Sage 200 as a core ERP Financial platform to manage a sudden large contract and rapidly increased order volumes across its retail and growing e-commerce operations. The deployment targeted multi-entity inventory and fulfilment visibility, supporting bespoke fulfilment patterns including producing, picking, and packing buffet boxes for around 750 sites on a recurring schedule.
Kinspeed configured Sage 200 with bespoke functional modules and automation, including a barcode-scanning solution that integrates directly with Sage 200 to provide real-time pick, pack, and despatch confirmation. The implementation incorporated FastDespatch and EDI capabilities to automate invoicing, packing, and delivery workflows, and a customised order intake module that automatically ingests orders and routes them via Sage 200 to successive fulfilment stages. These functional capabilities extended Sage 200 into an operational ERP Financial and order-to-fulfilment engine with stronger inventory control and warehouse operations support.
Operationally the solution established real-time stock visibility across multiple business entities and locations, enabling precise stock allocation and eliminating back orders while supporting a 24-hour order turnaround objective. Integrations documented in the implementation include barcode scanning endpoints, FastDespatch and EDI message flows, and automated order ingestion into Sage 200, which together created a continuous operational pipeline from order entry to despatch.
Governance and process changes centralized stock and order status within Sage 200, shifting manual warehouse tasks to system-driven workflows and reinforcing cross-entity inventory reconciliation and fulfilment governance.
