In 2017 Unity Water implemented TechnologyOne ERP as its core ERP Financial platform to consolidate transactional finance, HR, and procurement capabilities for a regulated Australian water utility with approximately 807 employees. The deployment was positioned to support business functions across Finance, HR, Procurement and Technology while serving the utility footprint in Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa.
TechnologyOne ERP at Unity Water was configured to deliver standard ERP Financial workflows including financial management and ledger controls, accounts payable and receivable processes, procurement workflow and supplier management, and core HR administration and security. The ERP Systems Lead role was defined to drive ongoing support, optimisation and a strategic roadmap, with responsibilities for system maintenance, performance oversight and continuous configuration refinement aligned to business needs.
Operational coverage emphasized cross-functional orchestration rather than single-team ownership, with TechnologyOne ERP enabling shared processes and controls between finance, HR and procurement teams. Governance controls implemented around the platform include regular access reviews, compliance alignment, audit recommendation tracking and system continuity planning to preserve availability and regulatory compliance across the utility.
Vendor and stakeholder engagement was formalized with the ERP Systems Lead acting as the primary contact for vendor interactions and for prioritizing incidents and enhancements with business stakeholders. Governance practices were embedded into rollout and operations, including routine reviews of system efficiency and effectiveness, change governance for configuration updates, and structured escalation pathways to ensure alignment with audit, risk and business continuity requirements.

The deployment establishes a centralized Employee Recognition and Rewards Management capability for Unity Water's company wide workforce in Australia. The service is accessible via the Unity Water employee portal at unitywater.rewardgateway.com.au.
The implementation configures standard Employee Recognition and Rewards Management modules including a social recognition feed, points based reward catalogue with digital vouchers, manager nomination workflows, and reporting dashboards for engagement trends. Reward Gateway Employee Reward and Recognition is instrumented to support peer to peer recognition, manager to employee awards, and catalog redemptions directly from the portal.
Operational ownership is held by HR and internal communications, providing program administration, content curation, and eligibility governance. Governance controls were configured for company wide access, role based permissions, and approval workflows to align recognition activity with internal policy. The solution supports HR led recognition programs and employee engagement activities across Unity Water.

In 2017 Unity Water implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to support stewardship of an asset base in excess of $3.3Bn and to operationalize the corporate Asset Management Strategy. IBM Maximo was positioned as the core system within Unity Water's asset information landscape and is repeatedly identified as a business owned application in the organisation's Asset Management Information Systems Roadmap.

Integrations and operational coverage reflected explicit co-ownership alongside ESRI ArcGIS, with IBM Maximo working within a broader asset application stack under the Asset Data Manager remit. The implementation covered the Asset Management Branch in Queensland, included a dedicated team of GIS specialists and asset data professionals, and was integrated into planning for Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions functions.
