In 2020, after receiving EU funding in July, EUt+ France deployed Whaller as a centralized Collaboration platform to provide shared workpackage spaces, document sharing, and video meeting capabilities across partner universities in Europe. The deployment provisioned Whaller for use by staff and students in the EUt+ alliance, aligning the application with education and communications functions across member institutions.
Whaller was configured to host structured workpackage hubs, centralized document repositories, and integrated video meeting rooms, and white labeling was applied to reflect individual university branding. Single sign on via Shibboleth was implemented to integrate university credentials and streamline cross institutional access. The architecture emphasized a centralized platform model accessible to partner sites, enabling unified collaboration and content governance.
Rollout followed the July 2020 funding milestone and targeted academic and communications workflows, with governance centered on centralized repositories and coordinated workpackage management. Reported outcomes include higher engagement, centralised repositories and daily usage by staff and students. Operational coverage spans partner universities across Europe within the EUt+ alliance.
